DESCRIPTION AND USE

ANTIFOAM - 550 is a general purpose, mineral oil free, liquid defoamer-deaerator which has wide application for varied industrial applications. ANTIFOAM – 550 is a proprietary glycol ester blend that also finds application in paper and industrial coating to eliminate foam and waste treatment systems.

ANTIFOAM – 550 develops extremely rapid and effective foam strike-down in aqueous foaming systems. It is effect in defoaming existing foams and is equally effective for prevention of foam. Its prolonged effectiveness and rapid action make it economical use in a variety of systems such as:

· Cooling Towers

· Waste Disposal Systems

· Sewage Plants

· Glycol and Amine Systems used for gas sweetening and dehydration

ANTIFOAM - 550:

· Minimizes entrained air

· Mineral oil-free

· 100% active

· Compatible in pigmented systems

ANTIFOAM - 550 may be added full strength into a point of severe turbulence for best distribution and optimum effectiveness. Addition of low levels of ANTIFOAM - 550 will deaerate a system which will result in improved filtration and drainage. Typical batch dosages range from 2-20 ppm of total system volume. Initial amounts (before optimization) are usually 1 cup per 10,000 gallons of system volume (~6.25ppm).

For ease of handling, ANTIFOAM – 550 should be stored above 40°F. Storage below this temperature will increase the viscosity. Warming to room temperature will restore the viscosity.
